1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
4 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

ANGEL CRISP COOKIES

Angel Crisp Cookies image

I've been making these wonderfully light cookies since 1964. I found the recipe in a old Robin Hood Flour cook Book.

Provided by Potluck

Categories     Dessert

Time 10m

Yield 4 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
water, for dipping
sugar, for dipping

Steps:

  • Cream together sugars, butter, shortening, egg and vanilla.
  • Mix dry ingredients together.
  • Add to creamed mixture, mix throughly.
  • Shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Dip top half in water then sugar.
  • Place into ungreased cookie sheet, press down in center with finger.
  • Bake 425° for 8-10 minutes.
  • I lised only baking time, not prep time.

Tips for Making Angel Sugar Crisps:

- Use high-quality butter for the best flavor and texture. - Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help incorporate air into the mixture and create a more tender crisp. - Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl before adding them to the wet ingredients. This will help ensure that the ingredients are evenly distributed. - Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients gently, until just combined. Overmixing will make the crisps tough. - Use a cookie scoop or a spoon to drop the batter onto the prepared baking sheets. Be sure to space the crisps evenly apart, so that they have room to spread. - Bake the crisps at 350°F for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown around the edges and set in the center. - Let the crisps cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. - Store the crisps in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Angel sugar crisps are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are crispy, sweet, and have a delightful vanilla flavor. These crisps are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you are looking for a simple and delicious dessert, give angel sugar crisps a try. You won't be disappointed!
