Tips:

  • To achieve the perfect flaky pie crust, use a food processor to combine the ingredients quickly and avoid overworking the dough.
  • When rolling out the dough, keep it cold to prevent it from becoming sticky. You can chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling.
  • Don't overfill the pie crust. Leave about 1/2 inch of space around the edges to allow for the filling to expand.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven to ensure that the crust cooks evenly.
  • Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the filling to set and the pie will be easier to cut.
  • If you don't have heavy cream, you can substitute milk or half and half.
  • If you don't have vanilla extract, you can substitute almond extract or rum extract.

Conclusion:

Amish Sugar Cream Pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy, sweet filling and flaky crust, this pie is sure to be a hit with family and friends.
