AMISH BROCCOLI/CAULIFLOWER SALAD image

I found this recipe on FB as posted by Emily Berkman. This is quickly becoming a favorite of ours. If this has been posted before I'm sorry to duplicate, but I couldn't find it. I'm sure this could also be made more healthy by using low-fat mayo and sour cream.....There is a picture on FB, but I'm having a hard time trying to...

Tips:

  • For best results, use fresh broccoli and cauliflower. If using frozen vegetables, thaw them completely before using.
  • Cut the vegetables into small, bite-sized pieces. This will help them cook evenly and absorb the dressing better.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the vegetables. This will help prevent them from becoming bruised or mashed.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables. They should be tender-crisp, not mushy.
  • For a healthier version of this salad, use low-fat or fat-free mayonnaise. You can also use Greek yogurt as a substitute for mayonnaise.
  • If you don't have any red onion on hand, you can use a white or yellow onion instead.
  • Add some chopped nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, for extra crunch.
  • Serve this salad immediately, or store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Amish broccoli cauliflower salad is a delicious and healthy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its crunchy vegetables, creamy dressing, and sweet and tangy flavors, this salad is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
