AMISH BOB AND ANDY PIE

Amish Bob And Andy Pie image

The story behind this pie is that an Amish farmer came in from working in the fields, took one bite of this delicious pie and said this pie is as good as Bob and Andy which were his two prize gelding work horses. It reminds me of a rich, spicy chess pie.

Tips:

  • Prepare the pie crust beforehand: You can make the pie crust up to 2 days ahead and store it in the refrigerator. This will save you time when you're ready to assemble the pie.
  • Use fresh, ripe fruit: The quality of your fruit will greatly affect the taste of your pie. Choose fruits that are in season and have a good flavor.
  • Don't overfill the pie: Leave about 1 inch of space around the edges of the pie crust so that the filling has room to bubble up as it bakes.
  • Brush the crust with milk or egg wash: This will help the crust to brown and give it a nice golden color.
  • Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling: The baking time will vary depending on the type of fruit you are using. Apples and pears typically take about 45-50 minutes to bake, while berries take about 30-35 minutes.

Conclusion:

Amish Bob Andy Pie is a delicious and classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its flaky crust, sweet filling, and crumb topping, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. Whether you're a fan of traditional Amish recipes or you're just looking for a new and exciting dessert to try, you'll love Amish Bob Andy Pie.
