Steps:
- Let the ham sit at room temp for 1-2 hours before baking. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Place the oven rack on the lowest level -- so that the center of the ham will be level with the center of the oven while baking, ensuring even cooking/reheating.
- Add 1 cup water to the roasting pan. Remove disc from the ham. Place ham face down so that all the juices can baste the ham all over. If you have a rack, place the ham on it, but if you don't, skip this step. Tent ham with foil to secure moisture.
- Bake for about 2-1/2 hours (or 15 minutes per pound). About 30-45 minutes before it is fully reheated, take the ham out of the oven and baste with pan drippings.
- Make the ham glaze: Whisk honey, brown sugar, and spices in a microwave-safe bowl until combined. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and cook again for 30 seconds more. Brush half of the honey mixture all over the ham, including in between the slices, so that mixture can reach the middle of the ham.
- Return ham to the oven, uncovered, bake for the remaining time left (30-45 minutes). Insert a instant-read thermometer into the thickiest part of the ham but not touching the bone. The ham is ready when it reads 135 F. Brush ham again with remaining glaze and serve ham with pan drippings.

NOT SO SWEET BAKED HAM
Traditionally, ham is rubbed with brown sugar and other sweet ingredients. I like my ham to taste like ham and I like my recipes to be simple. Here's an easy recipe that I'm sure your whole family will enjoy.

BAKED HAM
My family loves ham like this. Sweetly seasoned ham roasted with moist heat is a delicious way to celebrate special occasions. If using a pre-cooked ham, follow the directions on the package for baking times.

Steps:
- If possible, have your butcher remove the shank from your ham and package the Shank Meat separately. Most will do this at no extra charge. You can use the shank meat as a base for other recipes.
- If you can find the Brown Sugar flavor of Karo Corn Syrup, use it rather than regular corn syrup. Grocers sometimes only carry this flavor during the Holiday Season.
- Make sure your Ham is completely thawed before cooking.
- Remove the wrapper from your ham, and rinse your ham under cold water.
- To make your glaze pour your can of fruit cocktail into your blender. Puree it into liquid, then pour it into a large bowl. Add your brown sugar and Coca Cola. Hand stir gently for a few minutes until the glaze is consistent.
- Protect your baking pan by spraying it with cooking spray then covering the bottom with heavy duty tinfoil.
- Place your rack in the pan, then place your ham on the rack.
- If you have a food injector, load your syringe about 5 times and inject your glaze into the fatty pockets of your ham. This will ensure the inside of your ham is as tasty as the outside.
- Drizzle about half your glaze over your ham, then cover the ham loosely with a tent of aluminum foil.
- Bake your ham for 18 min per pound at 350 degrees. One hour before cooking is done, pour the remainder of your basting mix over your ham, re-cover it with the tent and allow it to finish cooking.
- When your ham is done, remove from the oven, wrap tight in your tinfoil, and let it stand for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Your guests will be amazed at the flavor. Try to be modest when you are complimented about your culinary excellence.

TASTY BAKED HAM
Yum! This ham recipe will be delicious on your holiday table (or for any dinner, really). We really loved the flavor. Sweet and tangy, the maple syrup shines bright and there's a slight bite from the Dijon mustard. It's a flavorful combination.

Steps:
- 1. Leave ham in sealed wrapping. Place ham in container of HOT tap water for 45 min.
- 2. Drain off water, refill container with Hot tap water and leave in container an additional 45 min. The purpose of this is to even out the temperature of the ham so it doesn't overcook outside and cold in the middle. Overcooking is what dries out a spiral ham, especially.
- 3. remove from water, take off packaging and the little plastic disk covering the bone.
- 4. Place ham in an oven cooking bag cut side down. gather top, and tie cut slits near the top of the bag.
- 5. place in baking pan. bake 1 hour in 275 degree oven (low) Meat thermometer should register 100 degrees.
- 6. cut oven bag and roll down to expose ham. Brush with your favorite thick glaze. Boost oven heat to 350 degrees. return ham to oven about 10 minutes till glaze is sticky. remove from oven and brush again with glaze. tent with foil and let rest 15 min.
- 7. My favorite glaze is made with Maple syrup and orange marmalade (combination of the two places I live)
Tips:
- Choose a good quality ham. Look for a ham that is fully cooked and spiral-cut. This will make it easier to slice and serve.
- Preheat your oven to the correct temperature. The temperature will vary depending on the size of the ham.
- Place the ham in a baking dish. If the ham is not spiral-cut, you will need to score the top of the ham.
- Cover the ham with foil. This will help to keep the ham moist during baking.
- Bake the ham for the recommended time. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of the ham.
- Baste the ham with pineapple juice or honey during baking. This will help to keep the ham moist and flavorful.
- Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Conclusion:
Baked ham is a classic holiday dish that is easy to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser. By following these tips, you can make sure that your baked ham is juicy and flavorful every time.
