ALWAYS GOOD TUNA DIP

Always Good Tuna Dip image

I used to prepare this all the time when entertaining and it was always popular. The recipe calls for Italian canned tuna. This tuna is canned in olive oil and is very flavorful. If you can't find it, substitute a solid white albacore packed in oil.

Time 7m

Yield 1 1/2 cups, 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (5 ounce) can albacore tuna, drained well
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened slightly
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper sauce (like Tabasco)
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Blend all ingredients together well using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Taste, and adjust seasonings to your liking. Be careful adding more liquid smoke, a little goes a long way! When ready to serve, try adding a light sprinkling of paprika over the top for decoration.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use high-quality tuna. Solid white albacore tuna is a good choice.
  • Be sure to drain the tuna well before adding it to the dip. This will help to prevent the dip from being watery.
  • If you don't have any celery on hand, you can substitute chopped cucumber or red bell pepper.
  • For a creamier dip, add in some sour cream or cream cheese.
  • If you want a little bit of a kick, add in some chopped jalapeño pepper or cayenne pepper.
  • Serve the dip with crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Tuna dip is a quick and easy appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is also a great way to use up leftover tuna. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious and satisfying dip that everyone will love.
