Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pkg cream cheese, 8 oz
1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 c)
1 c milk
3/4 c grated Parmesan cheese (jarred kind)

Steps:

  • 1. Bring cream cheese and butter to room temp.
  • 2. Measure a cup of milk. Measure 3/4 cup of grated Parmesan. Make sure you use just the jarred kind because if you use the more fancy one it comes out more lumpy.
  • 3. Cube or cut cream cheese and butter into bits.
  • 4. Place cream cheese and butter in a saucepan on low heat.
  • 5. Add the milk when the cream cheese and butter starts to melt. Keep stirring for 5 mins.
  • 6. Then add the Parmesan cheese in. Stir until smooth.
  • 7. Don't overcook, it will be a little lumpy and thick. If you want a thinner sauce just keep adding a 1/2 c of milk at a time until you get your desired consistency).

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the flavor of your Alfredo sauce. Look for heavy cream that is at least 35% fat, and use freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Don't overcook the sauce. Alfredo sauce should be cooked until it is just thick enough to coat the pasta. Overcooking will make the sauce too thick and clumpy.
  • Season the sauce to taste. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for a little bit of heat.
  • Serve the sauce immediately. Alfredo sauce is best served immediately after it is made. If you need to store it, let it cool completely and then refrigerate it for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat the sauce gently. If you are reheating Alfredo sauce, do it gently over low heat. Overheating can cause the sauce to curdle.

Conclusion:

Alfredo sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on a variety of dishes. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With these tips, you can make a perfect Alfredo sauce every time.
