Tips:

  • Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the onions. This will help them cook evenly in the air fryer.
  • Soak the onion slices in cold water for at least 15 minutes. This will help remove some of the sharpness of the onions.
  • Gently pat the onion slices dry before coating them in the chickpea batter. This will help the batter adhere to the onions.
  • Be sure to coat the onion slices evenly in the batter. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking to the air fryer basket.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) before cooking the onion bhajis. This will help them cook quickly and evenly.
  • Cook the onion bhajis in a single layer in the air fryer basket. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking together.
  • Flip the onion bhajis halfway through cooking. This will help them cook evenly on all sides.
  • Serve the onion bhajis hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
