Steps:
- For the fish and fries: Cut the cod into strips 1 inch wide by 2 inches long. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and some pepper. Set up a breading station with three wide shallow bowls or baking dishes, one with the flour, one with the eggs whisked with a splash of water and one with the panko. Whisk the paprika, garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper into the flour.
- Working in small batches, toss the fish in the flour, then dip into the egg and, finally, coat with the panko. Arrange in a single layer in the basket of a 6-quart air fryer as they're done. Cook in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, flipping the fish halfway through, until the fish is golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a dish and sprinkle with salt.
- Add the fries to the air fryer and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 10 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, add the fish on top of the fries to reheat.
- For the tartar sauce: While the fish is cooking, mix the mayonnaise, dill, cornichons, vinegar, capers, mustard and some salt and pepper in a small bowl.
- Serve the fish and fries immediately with the tartar sauce.

Tips:
- Choose the right fish. Not all fish are suitable for air frying. Some of the best options include cod, salmon, tilapia, and haddock. These fish are all relatively mild in flavor and have a firm texture that holds up well to air frying.
- Season the fish well. Air frying can quickly dry out fish, so it's essential to season it well before cooking. You can use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder.
- Use a little oil. A little oil will help to keep the fish moist and prevent it from sticking to the air fryer basket. You can use olive oil, vegetable oil, or canola oil.
- Cook the fish in a single layer. Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket, or the fish will not cook evenly. Cook the fish in a single layer, so each piece has plenty of space to circulate air.
- Cook the fish until it is cooked through. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the fish. Cook the fish until it is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Conclusion:
Air frying is a healthy and delicious way to cook fish. It is a quick and easy method that produces perfectly cooked fish every time. With a little practice, you can air fry fish like a pro. So next time you're looking for a healthy and delicious meal, give air fryer fish a try. You won't be disappointed!
