Time 1h15m

Yield 1 1/2 to 2 dozen cookies

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (see Cook's Note)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon fine salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Set air fryer to 325 F. Cut out a piece of parchment that just covers the bottom of the air fryer insert.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Beat together both of the sugars and the butter in another bowl with an electric hand mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Scrap down the bowl with a rubber spatula. Beat in the egg and then the vanilla. Reduce mixer speed to low, add the flour mixture and beat until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
  • Scoop out slightly heaping tablespoonfuls of dough and roll into balls. Working in batches (about 6 at a time), arrange them at least 1 inch apart on the parchment-lined insert. Air-fry until golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Let cool in the insert for a couple minutes and then transfer with a spatula to a wire rack and cool completely. Cook the remaining dough balls in batches.

Tips:

  • Use the right cookie dough. Not all cookie doughs are created equal. Some doughs are too soft or too wet for the air fryer, while others are too dry or too crumbly. For best results, use a cookie dough that is specifically designed for air frying.
  • Preheat your air fryer. Just like you would preheat your oven, you should also preheat your air fryer before cooking cookies. This will help ensure that the cookies cook evenly.
  • Use a cooking spray. Spraying the air fryer basket with cooking spray will help prevent the cookies from sticking.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Leave some space between the cookies so that they can cook evenly.
  • Adjust the cooking time. The cooking time for cookies in the air fryer will vary depending on the type of dough you are using and the thickness of the cookies. Start by checking the cookies after the minimum cooking time. Then, continue cooking in short increments until the cookies are golden brown.

Conclusion:

Air frying cookies is a quick and easy way to enjoy your favorite treats. With just a few simple tips, you can make delicious, crispy cookies in your air fryer that are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
