AIR FRYER FRENCH FRIES
Since I missed the whole Instant Pot® train, I had to make at least one air fryer recipe while they're still hot. And it doesn't get more classic than French fries; the generally accepted technique is pretty, dare I say, airtight, at this point, but I do have one extra trick in store! Finally, dip them in honey mustard, spicy ketchup, garlic aioli, or all 3 mixed together, like I did.

Tips:
- Selecting the Right Potatoes: Choose firm, starchy potatoes like Russet, Idaho, or Yukon Gold for the best results. Avoid waxy varieties like Red Potatoes or New Potatoes as they tend to become soggy.
- Cutting the Potatoes: For even cooking, cut the potatoes into uniform-sized strips or wedges. A sharp knife or a vegetable cutter will help achieve precise and consistent cuts.
- Soaking the Potatoes: Soaking the potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before cooking helps remove excess starch, resulting in crispier fries. Don't skip this step for the best texture.
- Drying the Potatoes: After soaking, thoroughly dry the potatoes using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Excess moisture can interfere with the crisping process.
- Seasoning the Potatoes: Season the potatoes generously with salt, pepper, and other desired spices before air frying. Experiment with different seasonings to create unique flavor combinations.
- Using the Right Oil: To achieve a golden-brown and crispy exterior, use a high-heat cooking oil like canola oil, avocado oil, or grapeseed oil. Avoid using olive oil as it has a lower smoke point.
- Air Frying Technique: Preheat your air fryer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Place the seasoned potato strips or wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding as it препятствует равномерному приготовлению. Shake the basket gently halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
Conclusion:
Creating delicious and crispy air fryer potato fries at home is a breeze with the right techniques and a bit of practice. By following these tips and experimenting with different flavors, you can enjoy a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries without compromising on taste. Remember to select the right potatoes, cut them uniformly, soak and dry them properly, season them generously, use high-heat cooking oil, and air fry them in a single layer for the best results. Get creative with your seasonings and enjoy guilt-free fries whenever the craving strikes!
