Tips:

  • Choose high-quality cod fillets: Look for fillets that are firm, plump, and have a mild, fresh odor. Avoid fillets that are thin, limp, or have a strong fishy smell.
  • Thaw frozen cod fillets before air frying: While you can cook frozen cod fillets in the air fryer, thawing them beforehand will help them cook more evenly and quickly. To thaw frozen cod fillets, place them in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes, or until they are thawed but still cold to the touch.
  • Season the cod fillets generously: Cod is a mild-flavored fish, so it's important to season it well before cooking. You can use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or lemon pepper. You can also drizzle the cod fillets with olive oil or melted butter before seasoning them.
  • Preheat your air fryer: Preheating your air fryer will help the cod fillets cook more evenly and quickly. Most air fryers have a preheat setting, but if yours doesn't, simply set it to the highest temperature and let it run for 5 minutes before adding the cod fillets.
  • Cook the cod fillets in a single layer: Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, or the cod fillets will not cook evenly. If you have a lot of cod fillets to cook, cook them in batches.
  • Cook the cod fillets until they are opaque and flaky: The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the cod fillets and the power of your air fryer. However, as a general rule, cook the cod fillets for 10-12 minutes, or until they are opaque and flaky. You can check the doneness of the cod fillets by inserting a fork into the thickest part of the fillet. If the fork comes out easily, the cod is cooked through.
  • Serve the cod fillets immediately: Cod is best served immediately after it is cooked. You can serve it with a variety of sides, such as rice, potatoes, vegetables, or salad.

Conclusion:

Air frying is a quick, easy, and healthy way to cook cod fillets. By following these tips, you can cook cod fillets that are crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Serve the cod fillets immediately with your favorite sides for a delicious and satisfying meal.
