AIR FRYER SPARERIBS

Air Fryer Spareribs image

We used an air fryer to turn spareribs into a quick and easy weeknight dinner. Separating the ribs helps them to fit in the fryer, cook quickly and get an even, golden crust all over. Make sure you dip them in the warm barbeque sauce immediately after they are done cooking--they'll absorb more flavor while still hot.

Time 1h

Yield 2 to 3 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 teaspoons paprika
1 full rack St. Louis-style pork ribs, separated (2 1/2 to 3 pounds)
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 to 2 teaspoons hot sauce

Steps:

  • Whisk together 1 tablespoon salt, 2 tablespoons pepper and 1 teaspoon of the paprika in a large bowl until well combined. Add the ribs and toss to coat, pressing the seasoning into each rib.
  • Preheat a 3.5-quart air fryer to 350 degrees F. Transfer the ribs to the fryer basket and cook until the ribs are tender and golden brown, about 40 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine the ketchup, cider vinegar, white vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire, hot sauce, 2 teaspoons salt, 2 teaspoons pepper, 3/4 cup water and the remaining 2 teaspoons paprika in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar is melted and the sauce is warmed through, about 2 minutes. Cover and keep warm over low heat.
  • Once the ribs are cooked, dip each one into the sauce, letting any excess run off. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side.

AIR FRYER MEMPHIS-STYLE BBQ PORK RIBS

Air Fryer Memphis-Style BBQ Pork Ribs image

Make this pork rib recipe in the air fryer. You can have tender, pull-apart ribs in a fraction of the traditional time.

Provided by Ben Mims

Categories     Pork Rib     Grill/Barbecue     Meat     Pork     Wheat/Gluten-Free     Kid-Friendly     Small Plates     Air Fryer

Yield 2 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 1/4 pounds individually cut St. Louis-style pork spareribs

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the salt, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, poultry seasoning, mustard powder, and pepper. Add the ribs and toss and rub the seasonings into them with your hands until they're fully coated.
  • Arrange the ribs in the air fryer basket standing up on their ends and leaned up against the wall of the basket and each other. Cook at 350°F until the ribs are tender inside and golden brown and crisp on the outside, about 35 minutes. Transfer the ribs to plates and serve hot.

Tips:

  • To achieve crispy and flavorful ribs, pat them dry with paper towels before seasoning and cooking.
  • Use a flavorful rub or marinade to enhance the taste of the ribs. Experiment with different spices and herbs to create a unique blend.
  • Preheat your air fryer to the desired temperature before adding the ribs. This will help ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the ribs in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. This will allow for better air circulation and more evenly cooked ribs.
  • Flip the ribs halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning and cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the ribs. The ribs are done when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, 155°F (68°C) for medium, or 165°F (74°C) for well-done.
  • Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in more tender and flavorful ribs.

Conclusion:

Air-fried pork ribs are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional oven-baked or fried ribs. With the right techniques and seasonings, you can achieve crispy, flavorful ribs that are perfect for any occasion. Experiment with different rubs, marinades, and cooking times to create your own signature air-fried pork ribs recipe.
