Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients: This allows them to blend together more easily and creates a smoother batter.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This incorporates air into the mixture, which makes the cakes light and airy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition: This helps to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined: Overmixing can toughen the cakes.
  • Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans: This ensures that all of the cakes are the same size and shape.
  • Bake the cakes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: The baking time will vary depending on the size of the cakes.
  • Let the cakes cool completely before frosting: This helps to prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

These 9x9 small cakes from scratch are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a variety of frosting options to choose from, these cakes are perfect for any occasion. Whether you're looking for a simple dessert to serve at a party or a special treat to enjoy with your family, these cakes are sure to please everyone.
