Tips:

- For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork or Italian sausage. - Add a layer of cooked bacon or crumbled breakfast sausage for extra flavor and texture. - Use a variety of cheeses to create a more complex flavor profile. A good combination is a sharp cheddar, a mild cheddar, and a Parmesan or Romano cheese. - For a creamier casserole, use a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup instead of the tomato soup. - Top the casserole with a layer of crispy fried onions or crushed potato chips for a crunchy topping. - Serve the casserole with a side of mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
