7-CUP FRUIT SALAD
This is a recipe I have been making for years. My ex-mother-in-law gave it to me. It is easy to make and very good. A lot of time I leave out the fruit cocktail and add more of the other fruit and it is just as good.

SEVEN LAYER SALAD
I usually make this bacon, lettuce, onion, pea, cheese and cauliflower layered salad in a large flat bowl. There's never too much because everybody loves it! You can vary the salad by substituting green onions for red, jack cheese for the Cheddar, etc.

SEVEN-FRUIT SALAD
This refreshing fruit medley, lightly coated with cherry pie filling, makes a great potluck or picnic dish. "You can substitute other fruits, such as red grapes or bananas, and use strawberry pie filling instead of cherry," notes Martha Cutler of Willard, Missouri, who adapted her grandmother's recipe.

Tips:
- Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all the ingredients and tools you need. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
- Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your salad will taste. Try to use in-season produce whenever possible.
- Chop Your Ingredients Evenly: This will help them cook evenly and make your salad more visually appealing.
- Don't Overcook Your Ingredients: Overcooked vegetables will lose their flavor and texture. Cook them just until they are tender-crisp.
- Drain Your Ingredients Well: This will help prevent your salad from getting watery.
- Use a Light Dressing: A heavy dressing will overpower the other ingredients in your salad. A simple vinaigrette or lemon-tahini dressing is a good option.
- Season Your Salad to Taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice for a bit of brightness.
- Let Your Salad Chill: This will help the flavors to meld and the salad will be more refreshing.
