**Recipe 1: Classic Hummus – The Creamy Foundation**
At the base of this culinary masterpiece lies a velvety smooth hummus, crafted from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and a touch of garlic. This creamy spread provides a rich and nutty foundation for the layers to follow.
**Recipe 2: Tzatziki – A Refreshing Cucumber Embrace**
A refreshing layer of tzatziki adds a cooling contrast to the hummus. This Greek yogurt-based dip is infused with crisp cucumbers, tangy lemon, and a hint of dill, creating a light and flavorful complement to the other layers.

A layer of spicy feta dip adds a piquant touch to the platter. Crumbled feta cheese is combined with cream cheese, diced jalapeños, and a touch of paprika, creating a creamy and flavorful dip with a subtle kick.
**Recipe 5: Chopped Vegetables – A Colorful Palette**
A vibrant array of chopped vegetables adds color and crunch to the dip platter. Crisp cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, and bell pepper strips provide a refreshing contrast to the creamy dips.
**Recipe 6: Pita Bread – The Perfect Accompaniment**
Crispy pita bread serves as the perfect accompaniment to this Mediterranean feast. Warm pita triangles provide a sturdy base for scooping up the delectable dips, ensuring every bite is a delightful experience.

Tortilla chips make great scoopers for this dip, which is a family favorite after we open Christmas gifts. Sometimes I serve it in a glass bowl-just to show off the pretty layers.-Etta Gillespie, Elmendorf, Texas

SEVEN-LAYER MEDITERRANEAN DIP
I like traditional seven-layer Mexican dip, but I love Mediterranean ingredients even more. When I made this mashup, my husband wolfed it down. And he won't even touch hummus or Greek olives on their own! -Bee Engelhart, Bloomfield Township, Michigan

SIX-LAYER MEDITERRANEAN DIP
Remember the layered taco dip everybody loves? Well, here's a Mediterranean version for you! Very, very tasty! Prep time includes chilling. This dip took a bit of work... I first posted it at Gail's way back in the 90s, I think.

Steps:
- First, strain the yogurt by putting cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter in the bottom of a strainer and pour in all the yogurt but 1/4 cup (reserve for later); let it strain for a couple of hours to thicken it up, or overnight (in the fridge) to make thicker "yogurt cheese" (I prefer it just for a couple of hours; you could also substitute sour cream for the yogurt, if you like).
- Combine the reserved 1/4 cup of un-strained yogurt with the prepared hummus, then spread mixture on the bottom of a 9 inch pie dish.
- Combine remaining strained yogurt and cumin and spread over the hummus layer.
- Toss together the garlic powder, salt, lemon/lime juice, chopped tomatoes, and avocado, then spread over the yogurt layer.
- Add a layer of the cucumbers and sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper.
- Add a layer of feta, then finish it all off with olives.
- Let chill for an hour before serving with pita chips (artichoke hearts are a good addition to this recipe, as well.).
