Tips:

  • Choose a good quality ham. A bone-in ham will be more flavorful than a boneless ham.
  • Make sure the ham is fully thawed before cooking. This will help it cook evenly.
  • Score the ham all over before roasting. This will help the glaze penetrate the meat.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ham is cooked to the desired doneness. The internal temperature should reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit for a medium-rare ham or 160 degrees Fahrenheit for a fully cooked ham.
  • Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

This 5-spice plum glaze is a delicious and easy way to add flavor to your ham. It's perfect for a special occasion meal or a weeknight dinner. With its sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavor, this glaze is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
