Time 2h25m

Yield 24 bars

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) cold unsalted butter, cubed, plus more for dish
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
Pinch salt
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
3 cups coarsely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with foil allowing an overhang about 2 inches off the sides. Butter the foil.

Pecan Pie Bars Recipe - (4.5/5) image

Provided by Cubby

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup dark brown sugar
5 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups pecan halves (see Note)
Baked Press-In Crust

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over moderate heat. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the light corn syrup and dark brown sugar, then whisk in the eggs until thoroughly blended. Whisk in the vanilla extract and salt and stir in the pecans halves until combined. Pour the pecan filling into the pre-baked pie bar crust and bake for about 35 minutes, until the filling is set. Transfer the pan to a rack and let cool completely. Cut into bars and serve.

Tips:

  • Use good quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the final product.
  • If your pie crust is too dry, add a little bit of water or milk until it comes together.
  • Be careful not to over-mix the dough. Over-mixing will make the crust tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the crust to hold its shape.
  • Bake the pie bars until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Let the pie bars cool completely before cutting them into bars.
