THE $250 COOKIE RECIPE

The $250 Cookie Recipe image

Almost everybody has heard the one about the woman lunching at the Neiman Marcus Cafe in Dallas, who enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies so much that she asked for the recipe. For "only two-fifty," the waitress said, it was hers. But when the credit card bill arrived, the woman found the total near $300. Turns out the recipe cost $250, the story goes. In 1997, after years of enduring the myth, Neiman Marcus came up with a recipe - and gave it out for free. It's a delicious variation on chocolate chip cookies, using ground oatmeal, nuts and adding extra chocolate with a grated Hershey bar (you can use any brand you love).

$250 CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RECIPE

$250 Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe image

I always bring these cookies to my boyfriend's house whenever he invites me over. THEY ARE A HIT and the whole family loves them! Whenever they know I'm coming they always ask if I'm bringing my cookies. There is a story to these: There was a lady that went to a restaurant and had these cookies. She fell in love with them and asked the manager if she could have the recipe. He agreed and gave it to her and she charged her meal to her card. She got her credit card bill and saw that the recipe for those awesome cookies were $250. She was mad at the restaurant and made sure that she got use out of the recipe by sending it to every church cook book and website she could find.

MY VERSION OF THE 250.00 CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES RECIPE

My Version of the 250.00 Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe image

This is the Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that went through the internet "dubbed" as the recipe a lady was charged $250.00 on her charge card as at a well known restaurant, when she asked for the recipe after tasting the cookie for dessert after her lunch. She thought the recipe was $2.50. My husband is a Volunteer fireman and I am requested to bring these cookies to our picnic every year. They all love them. Last year I didn't have any oatmeal and didn't want to run to the store, so I made a different chocolate chip recipe and they all new the difference. These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have eaten. Prep time does not include baking.
