Tips:

  • Prep ingredients beforehand: Dicing vegetables and measuring out ingredients before you start cooking saves time and ensures you don't forget anything.
  • Use a large skillet or pot: This allows for even cooking and prevents overcrowding, which can lead to soggy vegetables.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the chicken, make sure to leave enough space between the pieces so they cook evenly. Overcrowding can lead to steamed chicken rather than browned and crispy.
  • Season the chicken generously: Don't be shy with the salt and pepper! Seasoning the chicken well adds flavor and depth to the dish.
  • Cook the chicken until it's golden brown: This ensures that the chicken is cooked through and has a nice crispy exterior.
  • Add the vegetables in stages: Start with the vegetables that take longer to cook, such as carrots and broccoli, and then add the softer vegetables, such as bell peppers and snap peas, towards the end.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce: Soy sauce can be quite salty, so using a low-sodium version helps to control the overall sodium content of the dish.
  • Serve the dish immediately: This is a best practice for most stir-fries, as the vegetables are best when they are still crisp and tender.

Conclusion:

This 1-2-3 Chicken, Vegetable, and Rice recipe is a delicious and easy weeknight meal that can be tailored to your own preferences. With its simple ingredients and straightforward instructions, this dish is sure to become a family favorite.
